Italian ceramic design shaped by form, colour and everyday comfort

Founded in 1995 in Civita Castellana, AXA works within the ceramic tradition of one of Italy’s most important sanitaryware districts. Its catalogue is centred on ceramic washbasins, toilets and bidets, developed in a wide range of forms, proportions and installation types.

The breadth of the washbasin collection is particularly useful for architectural projects. AXA offers countertop, wall-hung, inset, semi-recessed, under-counter, pedestal and freestanding models, from compact basins for smaller bathrooms to elongated pieces measuring up to one metre. Circular, oval and rectangular forms coexist with asymmetrical profiles and more sculptural volumes, allowing the basin to be selected according to both the available space and the character of the interior.

The current catalogue moves between very different design directions. VIS, designed by Giancarlo Angelelli, explores irregular, organically shaped volumes and is available in five countertop formats. Delano, designed by Alessandro Paolelli, reduces the visual weight of ceramic through slender profiles and includes coordinated washbasins, wall-hung and back-to-wall sanitaryware. Skyland develops circular and square geometries together with dedicated metal frames and cylindrical furniture, turning the basin into a complete composition rather than an isolated object.

Comfort is addressed most clearly in +Trentanove, designed by Alessandro Paolelli. The collection combines a more generous internal bowl with increased height and the offset A-Sound flushing system, developed to reduce noise during use. Compact spaces are covered by Piccola Eva, which brings the proportions of the Eva collection into sanitaryware with a reduced depth.

Colour is applied across much of the catalogue, not only to individual statement basins. AXA ceramics are offered in glossy white and a selection of coloured finishes including Tramonto, Petrolio, Lago and Terra, together with matte white, Sahara, grey and black. Matching flush plates are available in the same ceramic colours for selected collections, allowing the visible technical elements to remain consistent with the sanitaryware.

The product range is completed by ceramic tops, metal basin structures, shelves, mirrors and bathroom furniture. Several supports are available in stainless steel, oak, dark ash or in a paintable finish that can be adapted to the surrounding interior. This combination of ceramics and complementary structures gives architects more control over the complete washbasin area.

As part of Spazio Colavene, AXA can also be specified alongside Colavene bathroom and laundry furniture, Colacril bathtubs and wellness products, Tamanaco shower systems and LaBlù tapware. The result is a coordinated Italian bathroom offer built from specialist product families rather than a single uniform collection.

AXA’s value lies in this combination of ceramic expertise, varied basin typologies, coordinated colour and practical product development.
