TRONE

A French perspective on the bathroom’s most overlooked object
Trone was founded in Paris in 2018 with the intention of giving the toilet the same attention normally reserved for furniture and lighting. The brand works with French designers, engineers and craftspeople to create sanitaryware defined by sculptural forms, distinctive colours and carefully developed technical solutions.
Icone brought Trone to wider attention with its transparent cistern, which makes the water itself part of the design. Its patented HydraWise™ water-saving technology allows the flushing volume to be adjusted from 0.5 to 6 litres, reducing daily water consumption by up to 30%. The ceramic bowl is rimless for easier cleaning, while the brushed anodised aluminium top conceals the waterline where limescale would normally become visible.
Trone later introduced Callipyge, a wall-hung ceramic toilet with generous curves, an asymmetrical lid and a broad choice of colours. The latest addition is Altesse, presented during Milan Design Week in 2026. This wall-hung smart toilet includes rear and feminine washing, adjustable water temperature and jet intensity, drying, automatic deodorisation and two customisable user profiles. Its controls are placed behind a discreet ceramic panel, preserving the simplicity of the form.
The collection now extends across the bathroom. It includes Orbe and Ritual washbasins, Kaoline flush plates, ceramic accessories and Celeste stainless-steel mixers. Shared colours and materials allow these elements to be coordinated within the same interior, giving architects greater control over the bathroom as a complete composition.
Positioned within the upper design segment, Trone is intended for residential interiors, restaurants and boutique hospitality projects where sanitaryware is expected to contribute to the identity of the space. The brand’s distinction comes from making technology visible when it adds meaning, as with the transparent cistern of Icone, while giving familiar bathroom objects a more expressive and sculptural presence.
Rather than offering another variation on conventional white ceramic, Trone proposes a recognisable alternative built around form, colour and a more considered use of water.
