German engineering for what sits behind the wall

Much of TECE’s work is designed to disappear. Founded in 1987, the German company develops the installation, flushing and drainage systems that sit behind walls and beneath floors, supporting the visible elements of contemporary bathrooms. Their value lies in how reliably they perform over time and how much freedom they give architects when planning the finished space.

The range includes pre-wall modules for toilets, washbasins and bidets, developed to provide structural stability while simplifying installation on site. Acoustic performance is also carefully considered, particularly in apartment buildings, hotels and public projects where sound transmission between rooms must be controlled. Once installed, the technical components remain accessible through the flush plate opening, allowing maintenance without removing tiles or opening the wall.

Flush plates are one of the few visible parts of the system and an important area of development for TECE. The collection includes mechanical and electronic controls in a wide choice of dimensions, materials and finishes. Dual-flush technology reduces water consumption, while the internal cistern mechanisms are calibrated for controlled and reliable water delivery. The visual language remains deliberately restrained so that the plates can be coordinated with taps, hardware and other bathroom finishes.

TECElux brings several of these functions together in a single toilet terminal. Installed in front of the wall, its glass surface conceals the cistern and connections while providing a refined interface for flushing. Depending on the configuration, it can include electronic touch-free activation, adjustable toilet height and an integrated odour extraction system that removes air directly from the toilet bowl. The technical components remain accessible behind the glass panel.

TECE also develops drainage systems for level-access showers. Its linear channels are designed to sit discreetly within the floor or against the wall, allowing the surrounding tile or stone surface to remain visually continuous. The systems are engineered to provide reliable drainage while giving architects greater freedom over the dimensions and position of the shower area.

The products are developed for long service life, pressure resistance and efficient water use, with solutions that meet demanding European standards for construction and acoustic performance. These qualities make TECE particularly relevant for high-density residential buildings, hospitality interiors, healthcare facilities and public projects, where failures behind the finished surface are difficult and costly to correct.

TECE provides the technical structure on which a well-resolved bathroom depends. Its systems remain largely unseen, but they determine how securely the sanitaryware is installed, how quietly it operates, how efficiently water is managed and how easily the bathroom can be serviced throughout its lifetime.
