VERSACE CERAMICS
Where haute couture meets porcelain — Versace’s iconic design codes translated into ceramic
Versace Ceramics was established in 1997, when Versace began its collaboration with Italian ceramic manufacturer Gardenia Orchidea. The collections translate recognisable elements from the fashion house — Medusa, La Greca, Barocco and prints drawn from Versace’s textile archive — into porcelain surfaces, decorative pieces and bathroom elements.
Decoration is the defining feature of the range. Versace prints are reproduced using vivid colours, three-dimensional effects and precious-metal accents, while collections combine marble, stone, wood and solid-colour surfaces with an unusually extensive selection of coordinated decorative elements.
Special pieces are particularly important to the Versace Ceramics identity. The catalogue includes La Greca borders and corners, Medusa inserts, listelli, mosaics and coordinated trims in different dimensions and finishes, often incorporating gold details. In the Eterno collection, for example, a three-dimensional Medusa is produced using an exclusive patented engraving process, alongside Greca profiles, chevron mosaics and other dedicated elements. These pieces allow Versace motifs to be incorporated into a project as individual details, borders or more elaborate compositions rather than relying solely on all-over decoration.
The connection with fashion is even more explicit in collections such as Icons and Manifesto. Icons transfers textile-inspired patterns onto ceramic in 24 variants, combining motifs including Medusa, La Greca, Barocco Garden and Trésor de la Mer with colour, 3D effects and precious-metal accents. Manifesto uses high-resolution decoration and precious-metal glazes to reproduce Versace prints on large ceramic surfaces with a wallpaper-like effect.
Versace Ceramics also extends beyond floors and walls. Its Bath Furniture range includes made-to-measure washbasins, vanity tops and multifunctional shelves coordinated with the ceramic collections, while Taps & Co. adds tapware, fittings and bathroom accessories in complementary finishes. This allows the same Versace references to continue from the surface into the principal elements of a bathroom.
The range is particularly relevant for luxury residential, hospitality and retail projects where the brief calls for unmistakable, high-impact glamour rather than understated neutrality. The difference is specific and visible: Medusa and La Greca motifs, precious-metal details, three-dimensional decoration, fashion-derived prints and an extensive range of special pieces that carry the Versace signature.
