TRES GRIFERÍA
Spanish engineering for water, from individual fittings to integrated systems
TRES was founded in Barcelona in 1968, after Jaume Tres patented a better sealed barrel tap for the wine industry. His interest in precision and water control soon led the company towards bathroom and kitchen tapware. More than five decades later, TRES remains family owned and independent, with its headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Vallirana, near Barcelona.
Much of the company’s technical character comes from the way it manufactures. Design, casting, machining, surface finishing and assembly are handled within its own facilities. Keeping these stages together gives TRES direct control over product development, mechanical performance and the consistency of its finishes.
This expertise also extends to surface technology. TRES PBT®, or Protection Brushed Technology, is an industrial multilayer coating process developed to improve corrosion resistance and achieve a uniform, durable surface. The finish maintains its colour and appearance in humid environments and under frequent use. Available in Black Bronze, Volcanic, Cava Gold and Graphite, PBT® combines the depth of a brushed surface with the technical performance required in bathrooms and kitchens.
The company has gradually moved from individual taps towards complete water systems. Its catalogue now covers bathroom and kitchen tapware, concealed installations, thermostatic and electronic controls, as well as products for public, professional and outdoor use. This broad technical base makes it possible to coordinate the way water is controlled throughout an entire project.
The shower systems are a clear example. Concealed electronic and thermostatic controls can manage two, three or four independent water outlets from a single interface. Overhead and hand showers can be combined with body jets, cascade functions or bath fillers, while the operating controls remain visually discreet. The four-outlet systems are particularly relevant for larger shower environments, where several functions need to work together without filling the wall with separate controls.
TRES has also developed B-System, Therm-box and Rapid-box to make concealed installations more flexible and easier to manage on site. These systems bring the technical components together inside the wall and can be adapted to different bathroom configurations. Depending on the solution, they can incorporate electronic temperature control, programmable functions, chromotherapy and options designed to reduce water consumption.
This technical knowledge extends into the kitchen, where the range includes conventional, electronic and filtered-water mixers. TRES also produces fittings for public spaces, professional applications, swimming pools and outdoor environments, each with different requirements for flow, resistance and control.
With subsidiaries in Germany, Italy, Portugal and Poland, supported by an international distribution network, TRES has developed a substantial presence outside Spain. Its independence and integrated production model allow the company to retain close control over manufacturing while developing increasingly complex systems for residential, hospitality and contract projects.
